Introduction

Hello. Callistonian.net is my stomping ground on the Internet. Here, I post a potpourri of things - this place is a little random. I'm Chantelle: a 23 year old foreign language, law, and history obsessed girl.

Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl #1
Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of privileged teens living in New York City’s Upper East Side. The vast majority of GG’s protagonists are spiteful and superficial: they are as deep as the ink on paper after a girl signs her name with a Montblanc fountain pen.

NaNoWriMo. I signed up. I don’t have any concrete story ideas; I don’t know if I’m going to write anything. But I signed up. That must count for something. I’m toying with the thought of writing a YA-ish piece from various perspectives. I made a character and a website for Rhiannon’s Worst Website Competition 2007, and I think that maybe it’ll be fun (in a slightly masochistic way) to write more from Ella’s point-of-view. There’s also the Korean Drama-like novella that I was working on. Hmm…

If you signed up for NaNoWriMo, how’s your novel going?

Also, I’m engaged! Oh wait—I’m engaged in my dreams. In one of them, my friend asked me to marry him—and guess what?—I said, “Yes.” I don’t know what I was thinking nor do I know what he was thinking. I’ve never had a dream in which I’ve put myself and someone else I know in anything that resembles a romantic situation, and sometimes I even have control over my nighttime musings, so this is completely weird. It doesn’t help that in the real world, I’m a little pissed at him… How could I say, “yes?” Anyway, because we’ve busy been (or, at least, he has), I haven’t talked to him in awhile but when I do it’ll be hard to shake the I-had-a-distrubing-dream-about-you feeling.

“Everything here is copyrighted by me FOREVER!!”

Ha ha.

The last time I participated in NaNoWriMo, I wrote from the vantage point of a Tartan girl. It was not a fruitful attempt.

I wouldn’t worry too much about dreams, they don’t set out to make sense!

G’luck with NaNoWriMo!

I’m having trouble with a NaNo idea, too. It’s starting to seem like I might not write anything!

Okay, that Ella site is just hilarious. I love how it scrolls forever, I love the insistence that it’s not pron (lol at w3c.orgies!), and I love the thing about double suicide!

That dream is kind of strange. If I were a dream psychoanalyst, I would say it probably means that you have feelings for him ;)

I signed up for NaNoWriMo as well. Haven’t given it much thought though. :)

And lol I usually tell a guy if I dreamt about him. Last time I told a friend I dreamt about him he was all like “ooooooh!” until I said “you got murdered though”. But I’ve had quite a few romantic dreams–with different guys. -_-

I entered a short story comp once and fluked a highly commended. This was unfortunately in the first year of high school, so since then I had enormous pressure to do THAT well in English. I never lived up to that, so I don’t think i’ll be writing anymore.

Told your friend yet? I once had a dream that my female friend and I were married… hahaha…ha… ha… uh… anyway I told her and we made a pact: “if neither of us are married before 35, let’s get married to each other”.

I hope she wasn’t serious ^^”.

NaNoWriMo sounds so exciting, I’d love to catch it next year or so. I knew of it early this time but I was too busy (or lazy) to sign up. Anyway, I hope you do finish, and with a great novel!

I thought you were really engaged and I read so fast to see what was that about. Heh. you scared me. You are too young to be married, young lady! You have to wait until you finish your JD! Hehe

Anyway, that was a weird dream, usually when I dream about having any kind of romantic relationship with a person I know (or barely know) I wake up actually desiring that person, sometimes it lasts for a week :S

Didn’t it happen to you?

Nanowrimo! Ohhh yes. I can’t wait for Nanowrimo to happen. I think I’m more excited this year than I’ve ever been any other year.

I’ve had dreams like that. So strange. I hope they don’t mean anything. O_O

I’m having exactly the same issues about NaNoWriMo as you. :(

Unlike a lot of people here, if I had that kind of a dream I’d be so nervous when talking to my friend that I’ll eventually tell them anyway. It would be embarrassing at first, but at least it won’t bug me forever. I’m crazy like that, so I insist you do anything but what I would do.

Signing up is the first step!

I signed up for Nanowrimo two years ago for a school project and I am getting email from them now.

I have no interest in doing it, mostly because I have no time but also because, uh… I cannot write.

I remember I had this dream about this guy that I absolutely hated. He proposed to me in my dream, and I ended up having a major crush on him for two weeks. Then I realized why I hated him in the first place.

Let’s hope this dream doesn’t turn into some awkward real-life thing.

Hey!

Completely unrelated to your blog entry (sorry!) but after you commented on my own blog, I tried to email you and it bounced. Now, I don’t see a contact form anywhere on your site which is why I’m commenting here, so maybe you’ll see this and drop me an email?

I’m afraid of signing up for this years NaNoWriMo. I cannot simultaneously write (or have the concept in my head) a novel in a month and keep up with my studies.

Not that I’ve been studying anyway. :’(

Good luck.

Wow - My heart totally stopped when I thought you’d gotten engaged for real!

Wow-we’re-engaged dreams are much preferred over wow-you-got-me-pregnant dreams. Very disturbing, even if the the guy has no idea about your dream. :P

Good luck with NaNoWriMo! I wanted to do it this year but my course/work load is so heavy right now that I doubt I’ll be able to. :(

Gah! I hate those kinds of dreams. I once dreamed I was pregnant with the baby of a friend of a friend and so we were getting married. It was more like a nightmare.
