Introduction

Hello. Callistonian.net is my stomping ground on the Internet. Here, I post a potpourri of things - this place is a little random. I'm Chantelle: a 23 year old foreign language, law, and history obsessed girl.

Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl #1
Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of privileged teens living in New York City’s Upper East Side. The vast majority of GG’s protagonists are spiteful and superficial: they are as deep as the ink on paper after a girl signs her name with a Montblanc fountain pen.

I— I just finished almost finished typing an entry. Unfortunately, I also just clicked on something. My browser abandoned what I’d diligently composed and flew off towards another page. When I tried to return to the draft, everything I typed was gone. My first reaction was to blame WordPress, because, you know, not only did WP fail to auto-save my entry, it also—somehow— made me click on that wicked link. :(

II— In truth, I only have myself to blame. One should always save her work. Oh well? It’s not like you’ve never neglected to save something too, right? :D

On a slightly similar note, until recently, I never believed that dogs were actually capable of destroying (home)work, of eating it. Now, I know better. The favorite excuse “my dog ate my homework” cannot be said to be without merit. Not only is my dog a homework-eater, she is also a textbook-destroyer. For whatever reason, my dog decided to abandon my grandmother’s care, to go downstairs, and to chew up/spit on/eat every bit of paper-like thing she could get her cute little paws on. A photo album, my alumni magazine, and 2 (or 3 - it’s hard to tell) books were ripped to pieces. It was as though the paper fairy came and decided to sprinkle several rooms with paper dust covered in dog spittle.

Some of you may be thinking, “But did she actually eat any homework?” No. There wasn’t any homework in the house to be had. But if there were, I know that she wouldn’t have had any qualms about eating it.

Lol good dog good dog. XD But hey… My CMS doesn’t even have the auto-save function. :P Oh well, we’ve all suffered that sometime in life.

Good doggie XP My dog’s don’t live in the house so they don’t do that, but if they did, then I’d hug them and bring them to my teacher with the papers and spitballs :P

I said something similar to my mother recently, along the lines of “I think I could actually use the dog ate my homework excuse now”. Sabre thinks everything he discovers is his new toy, and he’s got the jaw power to completely wreck whatever he finds in a few seconds.

And agh! at losing your entry! That is always so painful. It’s also why I’ve taken to using Word for typing entries. Ctrl + s is my autosave function!

Ha. Reminds me of my old dog. She’d see me with paper and she’d pounce on me.

What wordpress version do you use? I hate it, too when my entry goes to waste because I clicked something.

My dog ate my homework once.

But, in all fairness, it was made of spaghetti.

Wow. I didn’t realise that dogs did that sort of thing - I thought that was more cat like behaviour.

One time I was in the middle of a timed writing for English class when my computer crashed and I realized I’d forgotten to save. But I learned my lesson and nowadays I save just about every five seconds. xD

Unfortunately, I’ve never had a dog, so I’ve never been able to use that excuse. :(

Haha adorable. My excuse “my fish consumed my homework” doesn’t quite work, darn!

Wow, your dog sounds insane! What sort of dog is she?

I didn’t think dogs could actually do it, either. I always tried to come up with more creative excuses, though.

I always type emails, blog entries, and even long comments/forum posts in Notepad xD Unlike my browser window, I never accidentally close it.

lol..I never knew dogs actually did that!! XD

@Holly: She’s an English bulldog. She’s young and doesn’t seem to have the calmness or brain power of older dogs.
