Introduction

Hello. Callistonian.net is my stomping ground on the Internet. Here, I post a potpourri of things - this place is a little random. I'm Chantelle: a 23 year old foreign language, law, and history obsessed girl.

Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl #1
Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of privileged teens living in New York City’s Upper East Side. The vast majority of GG’s protagonists are spiteful and superficial: they are as deep as the ink on paper after a girl signs her name with a Montblanc fountain pen.

Once upon a time, in a far away land…

I encountered a strange man on the street. He was thin and average-looking. His eyes were small and dark; his hair was graying.

I ran into him mid-quest. What was I questing for? Stationery, of course. In true RPG-fashion, my friend sidekick, the Luigi to my Mario, and I had just finished asking everyone we saw for quest information (directions) because we were lost…

Anyway, as we closed in on our place of interest and as we approached the stranger, he placed the tips of his fingers in the middle of his head, and made a heart.

I’m easily amused. :) To that stranger, I would like to say, “Thanks, for making that day even more entertaining.”

Has a stranger ever gestured interestingly at you?

It’s so nice when strangers do nice things at you. I have a habit of saying “Hi!” or wave to whoever I pass by when I’m walking home/school because one day I was feeling sad (typical report card business) and this little girl smiled the prettiest smile at me, and I felt grateful, corny as it sounds.

Are those Korean words I see? You have such an interesting way of writing your diary …

I think I only attract strangers who do strange things … like pleading me to have my hair styled by them or a 80 year old lady letting me have her seat on the train…

That’s nice. I don’t like strangers though, i feel they are bad people. lol. it’s just me.

Strangers have definitely gestured towards me, but not in the way that I’d call “heartfelt,” but rather in a creepy way — it totally depends on your point of view though (I would have taken your encounter as creepy aha). It must have been a really amusing experience for you — I hope you found the stationery you were questing after afterall!!

Yes, of course strangers have gestured towards me :P. Today a friend and I were talking about strange incounters with strangers, and he mentioned a story about his sister’s friend who had a stranger call her beautiful and scream after her :|! It was quite creepy :P.

Ramsha, I always say, “Hi” or smile at people too. If I don’t, I feel weird.

Momo, those are Korean words that you saw. The man spoke to me in Korean so I couldn’t write what he said in English… yeah. :)

An 80yr gave you her seat? That’s odd, because normally they’re the ones who get the seats.

Laarni, some strangers are bad people. Parents always tell their kids not to talk to strangers, but this person just decided to say something random to me and what he said was nice… so I can’t label him as bad.

Brianna, I think that if it had been anyone else, if it had been nighttime, or if I had been alone, it would have been creepy. But I was in a great mood and the sun was shinning brightly and the man was never really close to me - he was just someone we passed on the street. I turned to my friend and both of us thought, “What just happened? What did that guy just say?” and we laughed.

Yara, that was creepy.
