I moved to SK
For those of you who don’t know, I recently moved to South Korea. :D I’ve been here for about a week … I really like it, and now – finally – my Korean should get better.
Best things so far:
1. My cellphone, my American Sprint PCS cellphone, works here. :)
2. My TMoney (subway) card from two years ago still works and has money on it. I’m glad I didn’t throw it away or cut it up…
3. My doorbell has a camera in it.
4. After 2 days, I figured out how to lock the door. XD
5. In the Olympics, South Korea already has 3 gold medals. The US has 2. All other countries (save China) trail them. woo!
I’ll update for real when I get the Internet working at my place, and such…

Ooh, how exciting!
…you’re not rooting for the US? :P
Wow, South Korea! Have you gotten used to the time difference yet? :P
Amanda, I’ll be here for a year. :O Snark has been a little slow lately… You haven’t missed much.
Regina, I don’t get jet-lagged, so I haven’t had any problems with the time different.
Wow. South Korea. Glad you’re liking it. Sounds exciting.
How is it there? Are you near Seoul?
Snark has been slow because all of the most important posters (Amanda and I, naturally) have been blocked!
I didn’t know you were moving either. It sounds quite exciting! :D
What did you do for the 2 days when you didn’t know how to lock your door? o.O
Wow, that’s exciting! :) Are you going to be working or studying there?
@Rafia, it’s pretty fun here. :) I’d post more about it, but my laptop is semi-dead. After I get my laptop fixed and Internet situation figured out – I’ll post more.
@Jem: I just didn’t lock it and prayed that no one would take anything while I was gone… The guy who took me to my apartment was just a taxi driver/someone sent to pick me up from the airport, and he had a really hard time figuring out how to open it even though he knew the password – so I couldn’t ask him how to lock it.
@Alex: Both. :P Right now, I’m only working. I’m a teacher, which is unfortunately the typical job for foreigners in South Korea.
Wow! You moved to South Korea, I certainly didn’t know D:
I’m glad you like it there, and working as a teacher sounds exciting! :)
안녕하세요. 별일이 없으셨어요? 행운을 빕니다!
Oh wow, that sounds like fun . . Moving to a different area.
Hmm; the wonders of cell phones working in mysterious places, but never when you REALLY need it. lol
Oh dear, I’m glad you learned how to lock the door.
Doorbell with camera? Sounds like something I’d have fun with. ^^
This girl I went to high school with moved back to South Korea to go to university – I forget the name of it. It’s really awesome that you seem to be assimilating and flushing out your Korean! How do you like it over there so far? I hear it’s really celebrity-focused, much like America. One of my friends was telling me how a lot of the actresses and actors there get a lot of facial plastic surgery to seem more western (e.g. eye-crease surgery?). I learned a bit of Korean at school, may I impress you with my abilities?
Anyang! Sarang hae <3
Apparently my accent is impeccable. Not bad for a white girl, eh?
^ Yeah, a lot of people get plastic surgery on their eyes, but I wouldn’t say that it was to make them look more Western. It’s just to get a double eyelid. The eyes still look “Asian.”
Nice Korean. XD
