My Student Drew Me!

Hi~! At work (an educational facility), I got new classes with new students. After completing her quiz, one of my students concluded that she would draw me on it. XD The picture above is me, according to her. I look so cute! Do you like my headband?
We just started with the new classes today – I’m not sure about my students’ English-speaking abilities, but so far I’m impressed. There’s a 10 (11?) year old in one of my higher-level classes. In that class, today’s lesson was on euphemisms. We talked about double-speak, politicians, connotations, &c. in English. It was difficult for them, but English is not their first language – and I don’t know how well American 6th graders would do with this (I don’t think they’d do that well). Euphemism isn’t a word the typical 12yr old understands. Honestly, I don’t think my class is particularly articulate, but I think they read well. We’ll see…

That’s so CUTE! The headband is awesome
I like it. It is cute!
Teaching 10 year olds about euphemisms in a non-native language? That’s quite impressive, for the both of you.
I love euphemisms… they make the world go round.
Hehe, it’s such a cute Asianesque picture.
Wah! That is SOO cute and well drawn! I’ve always tried to draw those cute chibi type of people, but always fall short and end up with a stick figure.
I want to have cute kids as students who like me enough to draw me.
Wow euphemism? That’s quite an advanced topic. I don’t think I’ve learned it until high school (15 years+) in Romanian, let alone English. However if they did manage to understand things in the end, it’s all good. Though… are you teaching them according to some curriculum, or did you just decide to “surprise” them? *raises eyebrows suspiciously*
I’m not sure American ADULTS would perform well in a lesson about doublethink, politics, and euphemisms. I applaud you for challenging students, at least.
(Also: how did you land this gig in S. Korea?)
Awww what a cute picture and such a nice gesture at that! Those are pretty deep concepts for kids but good for you for trying! Even if they don’t pick up on everything, it’ll still be a great foundation for them to be more aware of the use of language.
